Something I actually really like about myself is that, in spite of my neurotic pessimism—which causes me to (1)usually see the worst in things (2)usually make decisions based on “the worst”—I nevertheless have that youthful exuberance that people in their early twenties often have. It’s the “I can go anywhere” attitude, which I’m so glad I haven’t lost yet.
Don’t get me wrong—I don’t have the “I can do anything!” attitude that, in regards to sane, reasonable people, only sticks around for the first 12-15 years of your life. But I do feel like I can still go anywhere and there are loads of possibilities.
It’s the sort of mode of thinking that older people always disapprove of or look down on or, occasionally, find adorable. I’m okay with seeming like a naive 22-year-old if it means that I’ll still be positive enough to retain my ambition. I don’t want to be stuck somewhere, feeling like I could’ve done more to be somewhere else. I don’t want to hit 30 and suddenly realize I didn’t go any of the places I wanted to go or never lived in any of the cities I wanted to inhabit. Hell nah.
Anyways, my considerations at the moment:
- San Francisco - I love the Bay Area for so many reasons. It’s gorgeous, has great public transportation, and even though it’s rainier than its southern counterpart, it’s still got the better weather (IMO).
- New York City - Each time I’ve visited in the past few years, I’ve fallen more in love. Syracuse, where I’m from, is pretty effing dull so I sort of decided never to move back to the east coast a while back…but now I’m debating it. Plus, no driving. And that is the best thing ever.
- Shanghai - I can teach English there, see another continent (finally), and learn as much Mandarin as possible. Hopefully, my hair will make me get mistaken for an anime character imitator.
- Vancouver - I dig Canada in a million ways. Plus, hopefully I could get into their film scene.
- Southern California - If I stay here, I won’t have to do any big moves, I have lots of friends here, and the weather is damn fly.
- Boise - One of my close friends lives there and said I could crash until I find a place if I so choose to stay. Plus, I could enjoy a quieter city that costs WAY less than everywhere else on my list.
- Chicago - Because…fuck it, this place sounds wonderful and I’ve never lived in a place that’s not on a coast.
Any other ideas? Thoughts?
Expo vending my be hard, but its totally worth it
1) I love that they’re wearing the necklaces.
2) I almost asked to take a photo with them on Saturday but I chickened out.
3) You should make a calendar with hot guys in your jewelry designs.
On a side note: MANDA, how much does Mr. October look like Georgie (but less drunk)?

Sure Why Not of the Day: The fish-taco-themed parody of Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci” you knew was coming is now here.
[thanks jeremy!]
UPDATE: Kreayshawn reacts to the video after seeing it on TDW: “[I]t’s disturbing. and that girl looks so much like me.”
Definitely have eaten fish tacos from that particular place like five times in the past two weeks. So cheap, so delicious. On another note…
“Avocado, cabbage, plus spicy hot sauce. Keep that taste in my mouth so I don’t floss.”
Y’know, these are potentially better lyrics that the original. You know how I feel about avocado.

Just watched seth macfarlane sing karaoke and had him make fun of me singing spice girls. Weird, and I’m quite red faced.
